I received a nice email from James on this post:

"Thank you very much for the link. I looked at your web site and was so pleased.

If you are ever presented with the opportunity to see the exhibit, you would be fascinated with the associated individual clinical discussion and meaning of the works. one artist saw aliens on a regular basis, but never had a camera with during their encounters so it was necessary to draw or paint the images.

My artistic favorites are the images of Paloma, a brilliant Spanish physician who had intermittent episodes of psychosis, and only painted and drew during mental illness. Her work is so good that one is almost disappointed by recovery.

Before Dr. Andreoli's retirement, he used to espouse that anger was a major part of depression, and I think many images and stories associated with these artists support his viewpoint. I'm not sure how much of that comes through with the images.

The exhibition of the WPA was primarily due to the work of Dr. Thomashoff. Dr. Thomashoff is a very bright, capable and charming individual. He has certainly gained credibility in psychiatry and will carry on Andreoli's and Navratil's work. He continues to curate exhibitions associated with the WPA. Over the past couple of years the exhibition, or parts of it, have been shown in Germany, Austria, Japan, Russia, Tunisia, Egypt and Czechoslovakia. The next upcoming WPA exhibition is associated with a major meeting in Stockholm later this month. Dr. Thomashoff is curating it with Dr. Sukhanova."

Thanks James.
